Mandatory Student Health Insurance

The investment in college that students and families make is too great to be without financial safeguards from an unexpected illness or injury. Numerous studies have shown that a lack of adequate health insurance coverage can seriously jeopardize a student's academic career. As an integral part of our mission at Cornish College of the Arts, we want to ensure that students are successful in achieving their educational goals. With this in mind, starting Fall 2008 Cornish College of the Arts is requiring all students to carry health insurance. We have managed to secure a very competitive rate of $670 for the twelve month period 8/28/08-8/27/09 ($55.83/Month). This cost will be billed in two installments of $335 each semester. We are very proud and excited to be offering this comprehensive plan to all Cornish students. For details see Aetna Highlights Sheet. To have the $335 charge removed from your billing statement, you must Complete the waiver by July 18, 2008

  1. IF YOU HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE (other than student health insurance through the College):
    Complete the online waiver form by July 18, 2008. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THE ONLINE WAIVER BY July 18th, you WILL be automatically enrolled in the College Student Insurance Plan and your student account WILL be charged accordingly. You have until September 5th, 2008 to complete the waiver and cancel the coverage.
  2. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE
    Do not complete the online waiver, your student account will be automatically charged. If you would like to purchase additional coverage, you may call Wells Fargo of California Insurance Services at 800.853.5899.

The last day to process the waiver is September 5th 2008.
