The school year for new students begins with Orientation on Wednesday August 27. Orientation continues until the first day of class, September 2. Music and Theater students will need to be on campus August 25 and/or 26 for placement auditions to determine some first semester classes. Dance majors will need to attend a physical screening for injury prevention on Tuesday, August 26 as well. Everyone must attend Orientation.
To confirm your space in this fall's class you must return the Intent to Enroll Form and $250 in tuition deposit. Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you detailed information about our New Student Registration and Housing Workshops and other information you need to begin your studies at Cornish. The tuition deposit is non-refundable if paid after May 1, and is applied towards your first semester tuition.
The Office of Financial Aid is mailing out award packages to new students daily. For us to complete and mail your award we must have a complete FAFSA on file and we must have received any supplemental documents we requested. If you believe your FAFSA is complete and you have responded to any requests for additional information but still have not received your award please contact your Admission Counselor immediately.
While students and families are responsible for finding housing accommodations in Seattle Cornish has a number of resources to help you – most important the Housing Workshops and Student Ambassadors. Our general advice is to begin researching housing options in June to secure a place by the end of July. If you have decided you will be attending Cornish this fall and want to do some preliminary work now, you can correspond with potential roommates via our Housing Forum and direct any questions you may have to your Admission Counselor.
To use the Online Housing Forum admitted students must log in using the link at the top right of our online Forums page. If you have not logged in before — use the Register Here link to create a log in.
